Resource Rooms are classrooms where a special education program is delivered to a student with a disability. At the high school level, our ultimate goal is to help your children grow to become independent learners. Freshmen year is a major transition for all students and the Resource Room serves to support and instill a greater sense of self-awareness within your children. With self-awareness comes a more developed sense of confidence, and in turn a greater ability to self-advocate and further develop learning and lifestyle habits.
Resource Room students will inevitably become active participants in their learning, and therefore they are individually introduced to their IEPs, Goals, Accommodations, Modifications, etc. As the students become familiar with their own IEP's, their self--awareness and self-advocacy skills continue to develop.
